My mother will go weeks without contacting me or responding to my messages

No, she doesn’t. We talk a few times a month, or she’ll call if she hasn’t heard from me. But I’ve been on my own since about 20 (I’m in my 50s now). She and Pop figure I’m good. I probably worry more about [b]them[/b] than vice versa. Sounds like your mom’s treating you like an adult and trusting that you’ll reach out if you need anything. 🙂
