Is it okay for a 12 year old to watch a PG13 movie

Thanks for your responses, I told her that she would have to wait till she was 13.

My 12 year old daughter wants to watch a movie that’s rated PG13, I’m not sure if I’m comfortable with her being exposed to things like that

I let my 6 yr old watch very select PG13. I don't care about language.

She LOVED Gremlins. [Why PG 13 exists]

@Starcrossed well, I learned something new today, so thank you ☺️
It depends on the 12 year old and the movie.

PG13 - "Essentially, it says that kids less than 13 years old should not see a film rated PG-13, unless they are with a parent or guardian"

It’s totally up to you but if you’re asking for opinions, I think it’s perfectly ok to let my kids watch PG13 movies at age 12.

depends on what movie and how mature he is

You are responsible for your child's emotional and mental well-being in addition to the other stuff. If you're gut says no, then say no.

Technically no that's why it's a PG13, but I'm sure they have been exposed to worse on daytime TV.

Have you considered to watch the movie together with your daughter? This could be a solution.
Wouldn’t it be up to the parent/s? How would we know. @mrmoose

It's still got PG, so Parental Guidance is the thing... Do YOU think they are mature enough to watch it?
NativeOregonian · 51-55
The PG13 rating didn't exist until the mid 80's, IMO many of them should still be rated R.

Then say no.
