I Believe That Internet Friends Are Real

Recently, I thought that I had finally sparked up a friendship online, but they disappeared on me. However, it is possible that I scared them away. It was so exciting, having someone to talk to once again. My lack of social skills was probably my downfall. I didn't send multiple messages, yet, I probably took fpreber to respond. I sit and think about what I will say, so that I don't do exactly what I did, scare people off.when you've isolated yourself for so lomg, like I have, it's difficult to get back into the flow of easy socializing, even over the internet. I know it's not like I hung out with them and then *pop* they were gone, but it felt nice having a "friend" to talk to. My only means of making friends is through social media, until I can overcome my social anxiety. But when I'm constantly ghosted, I feel like even making friends online is too much for me.

Don't give up. It's difficult to make real friends, online or in real, but at least online it's easier to find a conversation partner with whom you'll feel comfortable
