Along my mtb trails..

On the edge of the Rockies..

[c=008099]To the SW, it's more arid, where the desert wants to spread into the landscape. The scent of sage and cedar prevalent.

Out of dry rocky ground, growth and blooming. I adore that, as it doesn't need any assistance or human manipulation to thrive. It just does, naturally. That's a true free spirit![/c]

A little to the NE, it's more lush and green. Meadow flowers bloom along a ponderosa pine forest trail. The air cooler, sweet and fresh, infused with that earthy pine scent..[/c]

@RogueLoner I wish I had a camera to take photos of the snakes I’ve come across. I don’t walk through the woods around here or pastures etc without being on a clear trail except in the winter. Too many damn copperheads around here.
@RogueLoner yikes

@RogueLoner We used to play in a shallow creek about 15-20 feet from a nest of water moccasins and that was when I was 3-4 years old. We knew not to get close to them because they’d all open their mouths at the same time to warn us. There were also rattlesnakes on the farm, my uncle got bit when he was burning off the pasture one time. More copperheads here and Pygmy rattlesnakes around lakes and other bodies of water, and other rattlesnakes too.
