And after relistening... I'm still not a fan.
But lets just hope they pull it off. And finally give Baron Harkonnen the place in the spotlight that he deserves.

@Kwek00 i think the movie is destined to fail... you cannot possibly put the dune story in a 3 or 4 hour movie... the 80s movie knew that and they made the right choice to ignore most of the story and instead go for the feeling... the costme design, sounds and atmospehere are insanely good.

@Strawberrry I think this movie is adaptable in 4 hours. And I think the books is perfectly designed to cut in too two halfs, since the book it self consists out of 2 halfs.
And I think the opening scene of the 2nd movie, will be the scene where they introduce Feyd-Rautha during a bloody gladiator duel on Giedi-Prime. So that they have more time for the other characters in the first half and they have a splendid violent opening scene in the 2nd one.
I just hope they pull it off. Because Lynch his movie is nice for cult lovers, but if you like the source material, it's pretty bad. The mini series by SciFi-Channel is the closest that there is to an actual adaptation of the book, and it consists out of 3 episodes that has 265 minutes (so a bit more then 2x 2 hours). And they pressed prettty much the entire book in there. So It can be done if they cut it into 2 big movies.
