Is there a band or artist from slightly before your time that you wish you could have seen live?

Do tell.
Helganvisari25 · 51-55, M
Yes! I wish that I could have seen Jimi Hendrix live. It would have glorious! I also would have liked to see Janis Joplin!
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@Helganvisari25 I've had that fantasy too many times. 😊
SmartKat · 56-60, F
So many of the great classic rock artists were active when I was a toddler and a child. I’ve got a whole list:
- Led Zeppelin
- Jimi Hendrix
- The Doors
- Jefferson Airplane

If I could only pick one great before-my-time band to see, though - it would be Cream. I love Cream.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@SmartKat Hell of a list. Grace Slick approves.
@SmartKat ooo surrealistic pillow is my jivvveee ;)

Peapod · 61-69, F
@Holdontothefire, he was someone I didn’t fully appreciate until he was gone, even though he was someone that was very much my generation.
QueenofCups · 41-45, F
Led Zeppelin and Billie Holiday.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@QueenofCups Great picks! The Angel of Harlem. What a voice and talent. Zep was ok too. Hehe. Over the hills and far away.
Noble · 56-60, M
Zeppelin!!!!!!
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@Noble Fuck yeah.....
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Miles Davis.
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
@NigelDoes Wait! I misread your comment... lol. That would be tricky. I think the order would go Miles, Beatles and then Zeppelin.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@rottenrobi Haha I saw Minor Threat waaaay back in the early 80s as a teen. 😀
rottenrobi · 56-60, F
@NigelDoes Me too!! I still love to listen to them while I'm driving.

Paintedfox · 36-40, F
@NigelDoes his messages are so strong, universal and timeless. To see him would have been awesome!
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@Paintedfox Hard to believe he was only 36 when we lost him. He pretty much put World Music on the map and he's still loved all over the world for good reason.
Oh yes, what a talent.@Paintedfox

Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Elvis.
So many, particularly from Motown. Would love to have heard Percy Sledge, Ben E King, The Supremes.

Would also have liked to hear live Elvis, the Rat Pack and Nat King Cole.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@LukeTheDuke I love Motown as well.
Sinatra at the Paramount Theatre in the mid-late 1940's.

Peapod · 61-69, F
Janis Joplin and Jimmi Hendrix come to mind.

I am old enough to say I once had Led Zeppelin tickets in my hand, but sadly, the band had to cancel their 1977 tour because Robert Plant’s son died due to a tragic illness. I did see him in concert in the later 80s when he toured solo.

@bijouxbroussard Wow. Love your taste in music. Ever get to see Aretha?
@NigelDoes Yes, once in the 80s.
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
I'd quite like to have seen Elvis live.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@pennynoodles Costello, eh? Oh wait, you mean Mr. Swively hips himself, the King.😘
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
Mr Curly-lip, swivel hips, yes that is the one. AS for Costello, he was just a little too odd for my liking. @NigelDoes
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
@pennynoodles I never got into Elvis Costello much either. The original Elvis definitely had a lot of charisma. Oh and swively hips. at one point, they would only film him from the waist up. Oh how times have changed. What did they think was going to happen?
Chevy454 · 46-50, M
Can’t think of any.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
