Why does Windows Media Player make incorrect assumptions about songwriters?

I recently bought the Gillan album "For Gillan Fans Only" on CD and when I played it WMP gave an incorrect songwriting credit for the track "Trying To Get To You". It credited John McCoy (who was a member of Gillan when that album was recorded) instead of correctly crediting the unrelated Rose Marie McCoy (the original vinyl release credited "McCoy" with no first name). Does anybody know if John McCoy and Rose Marie McCoy look alike enough to be mistaken for each other? Somehow I don't imagine they do.
