I Think Too Much

Today I went to a funeral, of a dear uncle. He was a larger than life character, so much charisma, passion, full of humour, blunt to a fault, and mischief, oh the mischief.
It was an open casket and when they closed it all I could think about is how this is what it comes down to a whole life, someone who would leave a huge impression on you' a whole life enclosed in a wooden box.

Sorry for your loss.

To me though the result is your memories, everyone's memories of him and you are you since you knew him and he meant so much to you. That shaped you and you shape your kids and close family and friends .... so in the end we all live on in those that we influenced and they live on beyond us and them and so it goes on all of use some part of the product of those before us.

I dear friend, who sadly himself died way too young some years ago, once paid me the greatest and most humbling compliment when he said that he himself was a better man simply because he had got to know me.

Thank you, brought a lump to my throat.

Most of my memories of him are funny, easy to remember his presence

From the dust we come to the dust we shall return...thays life, the key is to find and do something that makes you happy...tte it's inevitable that we all will it's what we do when we're alive that will matter the most.
