would be abandoned only when it would be of no use anymore.

Usually, secret services leave no trace behind. Yet, old files and footages dating back to the above mentioned era have been discovered explorers in the past.

Were those files, documents and footages of any importance, it has never been disclosed.

What happened after exploration, no one knows anything about it.

The one who discovered it what happened to him/her, no document of that either.

@SStarfish See, there's one thing we can agree on!

During, WWII and Cold-War era there were lots of covert operations conducted across the globe by both super-powers i.e. USA and USSR!

Each wanted to gain control of each other's territory or ally.

Not all operations have been documented in history as some are hidden in the secret files of left Nazi regime, KGB and CIA.

Scientists are still trying to discover the covert Nazi base in Antartica!

As per some conspiracy therories, Hitler did send one of his elite fleet to Antartica with team of scientists to construct a covert base in Antartica!

Some say that the unknown base holds tons of Nazi gold reserves to date!

There's no proof of it. It will remain a mystery until it is discovered for real.

Likewise, lots of abandoned covert CIA bases have been discovered in Kyrgyztan, Uzbekistan and Moldova. Also, covert KGB bases have been discovered in Turkey, Puerto Rico, Germany (West Germany then) and Hawaii.

May be these bases still have something that is long forgotten but is of great value to date!
