Coast Guardsmen When CG Transferred To Navy Duding War?

So I know the USCG is transferred to the navy during larger wars but what exactly do the Coast Guard service members do once that happens? Do they fight on naval ships? Also in he event of this happening what about the pilots? What do they do? Are they then eligible to fly Navy planes? Not really talking about fighters though since they obviously wouldn't be trained for that, but could they find themselves flying anything equipped with weapons or just more of non combat roles? Honestly curious as I plan on serving for at least the full 20 and will more than likely serve during a war and possibly a larger scaled war.

This should be covered in Basic during those classes you want to sleep through. You will also learn how to look up CG and DoD regs online. A CG Historian would be an interesting person to chat with.

@MikeSp yeah I figured we're going to go through all that and what will happen and stuff. I'm honestly just curious though. Especially about the pilot part as I should have a solid chance at going to OCS in 4 years and a solid chance at getting flight school at some point.
