Either the games I play attract a lot of insane people, or there are just a lot more insane people in the world than I realized

I have a dress-up/storybook game on my phone called Time Princess, and I don't know what the deal is, but I honestly feel like the only sane person in the Discord server sometimes. It's like every other player has some weird obsession or another, be it a character's sexuality/gender identity, how squishy/not squishy/whatever their face is (no, I'm not kidding), or how the developers got literally everything wrong because it's not exactly how they, the player, think it should be.

Of course, I can't even bring up any of this on the server without getting in trouble, especially since I was already muted once because somebody else had a problem with me. I said something about labels being confusing and they complained that I was making them "uncomfortable", despite the fact they were the one who came after me. But I guess rational conversations just aren't allowed online anymore.

The only reason I'm still part of the server is because it's the only English-speaking one, therefore the only place I can talk about the game with people who actually play it. I just wish they could all chill the hell out and stop making Mount Everest out of every little anthill. It's honestly kind of terrifying.

Its the later. Mental illness has been growing all over the world every year. I've seen reddit go down in just the last year or two. Dating sites used to be okay 4 years ago. Facebook became toxic after it was opened up to the public. Humans are just getting worse emotionally.
