Of course. Male or female, it doesn't matter, if you're my friend I'll hug you in greeting or when we part ways, or even just for the hell of it, no matter how long we've known one another.
Maybe if it has been a good while since I've seen them or know it will be a good while before I see them again. But if I see them on a regular basis there's no hug every time we cross paths.
