Nah I know people who have complete opposite views. Allows for a good debate at times

Only if you let them.
One of my best friends is a self-defined communist and I'm a conservative.
madbroom · 22-25, T
It can. I have a couple very conservative friends. I usually like them, but get so annoying when they say something political, and I'm pretty mad at them the rest of the day. It's often against LGBT people, especially T. They don't know I'm transgender.

I just try to stay out of the political conversations unless they make me join.

Unfortunately it can. A man who was a friend of mine and I have parted ways because of his constant and vocal support of the Trump dude in USA. We don't even live there , we live in South Africa. It is amazing how much American politics have an effect on people the world over.

My Facebook friends have been destroying relationships like crazy with their political fighting.
Transformedandevolved · 26-30, M
There's a minor setback for sure. That realization that you two don't just always 'click'.
Goralski · 51-55, M
Some of my best friends are militant lesbians

Keep politics out of good things.
