A platonic friend with whom I’d lived briefly when I first left home found me after several years and invited me to dinner. We had a great time, and promised to keep in touch, but what he didn’t tell me was that he was terminally ill, and the next time I heard from it was his lawyer telling me he’d passed away. He left me a gold ring I’d always admired. 😞

@bijouxbroussard So that was a proper goodbye from his side I guess. That sucks though. And through my question my intent was to make it realized that people die anytime and we never get to say a proper goodbye.
