I have a friend who calls me about every 3 months to brag on her jobs and lifestyle knowing that I have struggled fro the last few years. Why?

She is an old friend that I met in the 90s (used to be a friend with benefits even though she wanted to be my woman). I am happy for her. I dont know if she is conscious of bragging. It may be some kind of redemption for the relationship she never got with me.
