Friend

I have been trying to be a good friend and keeping in touch with a friend but this year we seem to have drifted apart I have messaged them a few times the last few weeks but no response so I tried to ring them and it rang a couple of times and went to voicemail. Am I trying too hard to keep a friend or what?
