You can propose whatever you want, it won't lead anywhere. When a republic is doomed, there's nothing that will help. Just have a look at the fate of the Roman republic.
As soon as a large enough fraction of the population believes in a strongman as their savior, they will do anything, everything, to get Fearless Leader into the most powerful office. When their strongman is formally charged in court, they will claim that the court is biased. Some fanatics will be willing to die for their hero.
Really there's nothing you can do 😐

@helenS Yeah but Trump's to Caesar pretty much what Mussolini was to Trajan. Once he deflates that whole electorate will most likely deflate with him (/lose interest), fragment, and even deny they supported him in the first place. And nonetheless, as every election since 2016 proven, those who want autocracy are a minority.

@helenS @Bumbles @Elessar As much as you can rightly argue the politics of the problem, at its heart it is a financial issue.. America is a dead blue whale. Alive, too big to fail. But now on life support in the hands of people who dont have its best interests at heart..So no matter which course you follow, no one can pay the bills..😷
