That can be a good thing but if it means you have to throw away the second one then that's a bit of a waste. I'll buy two or more of things if it's on special offer or, in the case of hair dye, for example, I may not find my favourite shade next time I'm due to dye my hair.

@Fluffybull I have and was told that it likely a fear of missing out on ....something. I can see how this might be it because some things are hard to find again, but most things are not. I just wish I would stop. I do it without even thinking it through.

@nonsensiclesnail Have you thought of seeing a hypnotherapist? That can be very helpful in gaining insight on why you do things and breaking the compulsion.

@Fluffybull I've toyed with the idea of hypnotherapy other other reasons, mostly curiosity. I may look into it again.
