Yes they can be friends and never feel romantically for another.
No one will fall for the other n remain on their hopeless hook.

Remain friends or is it inevitable that one of them would develop feelings for the other. Can platonic friendships transcend genders? Or does our instinct drive us all? Genuinely curious about what the gen pop of sw thinks.

I have a guy bestfriend. However we try to create distance when we had our partners. Tbh sometimes, maybe we may become a good couple, since we've been bestfriends for too long and we have had our shared stories. But when I thought how beautiful our friendship is, I wouldn't want to take it unto the next level. I'm pretty confident as well that we didn't have or had a feeling for each other.

One time, I remember we had a talk if we can be friends with benefits. Then we ask ourselves, do we love each other? Of course we love each other in a platonic way, but not a romantic way. Please note we didn't do anything. And things stay the same.
@sugarpie but there one felt more than other bc one wanted benefits

i was going to say it's possible but after looking back on my own life i don't think it is. i had a friend all throughout middle and high school and i found out after i had left school that she had a crush on me. though idk i can't see why not.

@PleasurePunch like me, she had a bunch of issues. i wouldn't have been able to help her
PleasurePunch · 100+
@looping I hope she found the right one for her
I hope you did too

@Bugbittinbrain maybe some but the honeymoon kinda also counts
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I don't know. There are no issues there from my side but it seems like men always want something more.

@CrazyMusicLover Yeah I’m interested in shelves 🤭
@CrazyMusicLover yeah I can’t stop it either must be biological

I think they can have a strictly platonic friendship.
It depends a lot on who they are and the chemistry between them
@caPnAhab would chemistry just happen bc instinct ?
SW-User
Of course it's possible. If one is gay and the other is hetero, if one or both are partnered and love their partners, if they just don't happen to find each other attractive in "that" way -- all examples. I've been just friends many times with guys from kindgergarten right thru college. I'm very sure none of them were secretly crushing on me.
@SW-User I meant boy girl friendships but I guess ur right
SW-User
@userfawkes1105 That's what I meant too, boy/girl or man/woman.
deadgerbil · 22-25
It's possible. If someone has difficulty with it, that's more on them or the people they're talking to than anything else. People like to chalk up their own issues to stuff they can't control

What are gay people?
ArtieKat · M
Yes, I've had several. To be totally truthful, there were probably some nights - with each of them - when one more drink could have upset the equilibrium, but it didn't happen
Luke73 · 22-25, M
Of course they can. Two people can be friends without feeling any attraction between them
@Luke73 I was wondering if as your friendship forms one feels more than the other usually but your right could b
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@userfawkes1105 I'm sure there are exceptions and something more can develope from a friendship but you can from a deep connection with someone regardless of their gender

When siblings of opposite sexes can be without developing feelings then why not ?

But also depends on how close they get in life and how life gets them together.

The mating game is always at play. As soon as one sees an opportunity they are likely to take it.
@SW-User I agree to that bc it’s instinct but wondered if others though so too
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Totally I've female friends where there is no romantic feelings at all and none reciprocated
Scribbles · 36-40, F

HannahSky · F
They exist

Inevitable
Of course they can remain friends, for any number of reasons. You can like someone a lot without being romantically attracted. At least, I can.
