I wish they saved Raccoon City in the Resident Evil 3 remake

I don’t like how they introduced a plot point where word of a vaccine for the T-Virus reaches the government and they state they won’t destroy the city if they can get the vaccine to them in time, only for the city to end up getting destroyed at the end anyway. Yes, the city being nuked was what happened in the original, but mention of the possibility of Raccoon City being saved was not in the original. It raises the question as to why they even included that. It really intrigued me when I first played it because it made seem that this might be an alternate timeline where Raccoon City survives and the new Resident Evil 4 could be about saving the franchise's beloved city. But nope, still gets destroyed. Then what was the point of that?
