How do you feel about giving pets human names? I find it a bit creepy tbh.

My brother Fido feels the same way.

Like Henry the 8th lol 😄@SW-User

Most dogs do, these days. Why not? Are we all supposed to call them Fido?? 🤣😂
Starcrossed · 41-45, F

My pets always have human names. I'm not going to be at the dog park calling out, "Puddles, stop rolling in the mud! Get out of the mud, Puddles!"

I like them having people names as they often believe they are people

@nonsensiclesnail Agree! This is Oscar and his name really suits him!
BnBSpringer09 · 26-30, F
I don't mind it one way or the other, TBH. I've had pets with both human and pet names. 🤣
Do you think we’re supposed to call a dog cookie?
KarenisKenziesmum · 51-55, F
@Gingerbreadspice Cookie is a general nickname for a guy with the surname Cook or Cooke, so it is a human name in that way.
@KarenisKenziesmum It’s also a biscuit or cake.
KarenisKenziesmum · 51-55, F
@Gingerbreadspice I know that, I was just saying how it can be a personal name.
It's fucking weird. "OH there goes Fred humping the vacuum again."
@MrBlueGuy Jimmy Fletcher used to look us dead in the eyes while peeing on the carpet. 😐

I remember that when I was a kid, my parents were always saying that animals should never have human names. I don't remember the reason but I remember the stress they used to put on this opinion...as if it was a matter of law or something. 😆
Elessar · 31-35, M
It's absolutely the norm where I live.

Cesare is a pretty common name for cats, for instance.
Elessar · 31-35, M
Also I know of a dog named "Lapo" (named after "Lapo Elkann", that if you read as "Lapo el càn" would literally translate to "Lapo the dog") 🙈
Punches · 46-50, F
@Elessar We had a cat that my mom named that.
AllycatAD · 26-30
it's up to you, naming a dog shark and take it to the beach might not be a good idea.
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
Some can work. But not Kevin. Not bill. But some human names are ok.
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
If Kenvin, then all the cuddles!!!
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
It's cool with me, I won't mind it.
KarenisKenziesmum · 51-55, F
Most people give pets human names around here.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
It is silly yes, but better that than foisting absurd, bully-bait names that sometimes would be better for dogs, on children by fashion-victim parents.

A d his favorite position is doggy style
Lilymoon · F
Kevin is a bit weird yeah
SW-User
I suck at naming things so I use film character names like Freddy or Jason
