Why does sex and relationships (and friendships) seem so over-rated ?

To me at least they are... I've never found a need or desire to want friends, and I think this is partly why despite having had two relationships I find everything about sex and relationships completely 'hollow' without any substance or intrinsic value to me as an adult human.
