Elon Musk and Twitter... 🤦🏾‍♂️

Elon Musk bought the company on Thursday.

He immediately fired the CEO and CFO.

He did not communicate via official channels with employees; no email, no town hall.

He is publicly mocking Twitter's existing processes, including the new manager training.

He's brought in external advisors and external software engineers, whom current Twitter employees feel are calling the shorts.

He said he'd fire 75% of staff, then walked back on this.

He put artificial, very aggressive, deadlines in place.

He indirectly mandated working over the weekend by setting a Monday morning demo deadline, on a Saturday.

The way Elon Musk is continuously showing total disregard and disrespect for people during his first moves on Twitter is staggering. I wonder if the company will ever recover culturally, and also what Tesla employees may be thinking right now.

Twitter is a PRIVATE company and can do what it wants!
@MrBrownstone Including censoring and banning users?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@LeopoldBloom As it always has?
@MrBrownstone Yes. I thought you people had a problem with that. The reason you were all creaming yourselves over Musk taking it over was because you thought he would turn it into a larger version of Gab.

@LeopoldBloom I didn’t care who owns it. Just funny to see Twitter employees become hypocrites.
@MrBrownstone The employees aren't hypocrites. They're just concerned that Musk will run Twitter into the ground. The ones who can get out now are leaving. It's the conservatives who were drooling over Musk ending content moderation who are now finding out that he's only interested in how much money he can squeeze out of them.

@LeopoldBloom Exactly. It’s a private company and can do what it wants. It DOES NOT belong to the employees. What they want is irrelevant. They should start their own social media platform.
@MrBrownstone Then we agree. So I assume you don't think the federal government should impose rules on social media to make sure they give both sides equal time or don't ban accounts that you personally approve of? Conservatives are still upset about Twitter banning Trump, and Musk hasn't said if he will reinstate Trump's account. But it's a private company, so he can show favoritism any way he likes, right?
