If you'll have your own restaurant, what would you call it and what would your specialty food and drink be? :)

What would it look like?

When I was a kid there was a restaurant in Amarillo called Gardski's Loft. It was a 2 story ski loft type of decor. Lot's of dark wood and ambient lighting and neons. It was a fun and exciting place that was always packed. They served really delicious burgers and their fries were home cut with a garlic seasoning...just enough to make them irresistible. Lots of beer in beer glasses , not mugs. It was cute with great food and appetizers. I would want a place like that, where is was fun and people enjoyed coming in .

@TexChik Did it close down?

@Casheyane Yes, they opened one in Lubbock where I was going to school and it was good. I was so excited and then the next time I went...closed.

@TexChik Aww. Sorry to hear that. Maybe you can check in with the owners and open a franchise?

My restaurant? It would be called Heartlander's of course.

Specialty: Breakfast, 24/7 and the specialty drinks coffee and tea at no charge and the coffee and hot tea served in real, ceramic mugs; Ice tea in real glasses. Paper cups only only for take outs.

My specialty breakfast items would be my crepe-like pancakes and my specialty hash browns made with caramelized sweet peppers and onion. Free meals for people in need for those who had a ticket. Tickets would be distributes to outreach programs and churches to be distributed to their people in need. My restaurant would be staffed by the very best who would serve as teachers and mentors in an apprenticeship program where we would have quarterly graduation programs with patron and the general public invited.

Oh, there is much more to Heartlander's, like periodic celebrity chefs, dishwasher and bus-boy of the month awards, and a cap on the bill or discount for extra large families or gatherings.

Also midnight deliveries for late night and all night workers, like the police, police dispatchers, firemen, back-room accounting clerks, etc., etc.

I'd call it: The Kitchen Table.
No more then 20 tables, most seating 6. With a nolstagic decor theme and a large fireplace.
The menu coming from the Australian Women's Weekly Cookbook 1970 edition.

The Dancing Duck. I'd theme it like a medieval fantasy tavern with medieval fantasy themed food. I'd find some local craft brewers to create a featured ale and a honey mead.

Cosplayers welcomed. Reserve a private room to host a game of dungeons and dragons in.
