Life expectancy has fallen in the last ten years in the UK.

The Tory legacy. Says it all.

It won’t be much longer
@SW-User Yet they cling to power

@sunriselover The reassuring thing is, unlike the rest of Europe it seems, the more reckless, cruel and “populist” the Tories become, the more the voters seem to despise them. It’s a doom loop. The Tories will be obliterated . I dont think we’re going to see anything like the landslide we’re going to witness for Labour in October ever again.

@SW-User Trouble is they have no definitive answers to the spot we find ourselves in either.

It's clear what we need to do.

Create.

Jobs; homes; investment; trading links; debt reduction; decent social care....basically repair everything that's been in decline since before leaving the EU let alone so many years of Conservative mismanagement under various scoundrels masquerading as Prime ministers.

Infrastructure alone is on it's knees with faulty railway lines and even faultier train companies.
Roads seemingly permanently closed or diverted because of wear and tear or cheap repair. And that's just main roads.
'A' roads; 'B' roads and localised traffic hotspots are going to take years to put right.

Add to that the poor capacity at airports, certainly with regard to runway repair and maintenance and all that before we get to the problems of inequality under the law (deliberately created during Conservative rule)
The shocking degradation of the NHS; Education ? Outdated defence systems and equipment ?
@Picklebobble2 I agree they’re not going to be much improvement.

@sunriselover i can't see how any opposition party could come up with a 'Here's what we're going to do..." list and satisfy it's core support to entrust it for at least three election cycles to deliver what it promises.
Let alone attract voters who wouldn't normally vote for them.

And without that I think you'll see fewer and fewer people turning out to vote for the foreseeable future.
And THAT spells trouble with regard to an overwhelming public mandate which in itself could see governments deciding to change electoral law deliberately preventing certain subsections of society from voting as a result
@Picklebobble2 we already have that with the necessity of identity cards. It disenfranchises the homeless and some of the underclass.

Who needs elections anyway. We have Rishi and he was not elected by anyone. Not even his own part.

@sunriselover well I think labour will repeal the need for identity cards at polls, as the Tories brought them in purely to suppress the labour vote. Voter fraud is a fictional issue.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@SW-User but even that takes time. Sadly
SW-User
@Picklebobble2 it will take time. But I’m hopeful the incoming labour government will serve at least two terms

@sunriselover it's the oddballs on the Conservative fringe that worry me.
