@helenS that's interesting. Was it celebrated even in West Germany ? In the East it was certainly celebrated. Is it celebrated still there after the unification ?
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters Definitely yes. I lived in Germany for a while, as a student, and it's celebrated by the unions as a worker's day every year. There are also some riots in the streets every year, caused by some "revolutionary" groups.
@helenS in Israel it used to be a big thing , especially in the first 29 years when the Labour party was in power. It's still celebrated in places here
@helenS no, it's not lol we just finished a weeks holiday for Passover and in 2 weeks we have another 2 days for Memorial day and Independence day !! The Jewish Calander and the Israeli year has lots of holidays !!
