Biden Mocked After Live Appearance In Which He Claimed He Was Arrested At A Civil Rights Protest

On Friday, President Joe Biden was subject to criticism from commentators on both sides of the aisle for stretching the truth during an interview with radio host Howard Stern.

This marked one of the few times that Biden has been interviewed live during his time in office. During the debate, however, Biden made several claims that were hit with scrutiny from national media and others in the political sphere, who alleged that the claims had little to no evidence, or were outright falsified.

Biden was particularly scrutinized for his claim that he had been arrested at a Delaware desegregation protest.

During the interview, Biden recounted what his mother had told him when he was invited to join the campaign of former President Barack Obama ahead of the 2008 presidential election.

“She said, ‘Remember when they were desegregating Lynnfield, the neighborhood … suburbia…and I told you…and there was a Black family moving in and there was…people were down there protesting; I told you not to go down there, and you went down, remember that? And you got arrested standing on the porch with a Black family? And they brought you back, the police?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, Mom, I remember that,’” he told Stern.

Biden was quickly bashed by various media voices from across the aisle, who claimed there was “no evidence” for the claim.

CNN reported that there is “no evidence Biden ever got arrested during a civil rights protest, as the Washington Post and PolitiFact found when they looked into this claim in 2022 – and Biden has at least twice told the story of his supposed presence at this particular Delaware protest without mentioning any arrest, instead claiming that the police merely took him home that day.”

Similarly, the New York Times reported that Biden “appeared to once again stretch the truth about being arrested at a Delaware desegregation protest as a teenager. There is no evidence that he was ever arrested at a civil-rights protest.”

Biden also made several other questionable remarks, as noted by conservative commentator Greg Price including the claim that he saved “half a dozen” lives while serving as a lifeguard in his younger years, and another claim that he was a “runner-up in state scoring,” during his high school football years.

Biden also claimed that he received “salacious pictures” while acting as a senator in the 1970s, telling Stern, “I got put in that ten most eligible bachelors list … and a lot of lovely women… would send very salacious pictures, and I’d just give them to the Secret Service.”

Biden did not receive Secret Service protection until 2008, so it is unclear how he might have given said photos to the protection service reserved for White House officials.

Biden has long been accused of making up tall tales, such as the infamous “Corn Pop” monologue, in which he claimed that he squared off against a gang leader under the moniker Corn Pop while he was lifeguarding at a public pool.

Just earlier this week, Biden repeated a claim that he used to drive an 18-wheeler truck while appearing at a campaign event in Florida.

In a “fact-check” piece, CNN wrote: “Biden has repeatedly embellished or invented biographical tidbits. In 2021, he claimed during a tour of a Mack Trucks facility: ‘I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man,’ then added, ‘I got to.’ At a separate 2021 event, he told college students studying truck technology, ‘I used to drive a tractor-trailer,’ adding, ‘I only did it for part of a summer, but I got my license anyway.'”

“Biden’s claim remains untrue. There is no evidence he ever drove an 18-wheeler,” the outlet added.

What bothers me is that the media reports that Biden "embellishes" or "invents"; but of course Trump just lies, lies, lies.

Thus far, not a single one of Bidens “anecdotes” has been true. They are simply a glimpse of the man he wishes he had been, and never was. The mainstream media gives him a pass because he is a malleable tool, that the liberal progressives around him can manipulate.
@MarmeeMarch First, It's a loss Biden has talked about; especially to the families of service members who died in the line of duty. Second, because the claim "not a single one of Bidens 'anecdotes' has been true" is patently false.
In a tone both measured and thoughtful, Biden described receiving the unthinkable news: "And just like you guys know by the tone of a phone call, you just knew didn't you?," he told the audience. "You knew when they walked up the path, you knew when the call came, you knew. You just felt it in your bones. Something bad happened. And I knew. I don't know how I knew. But the call said my wife is dead, my daughter was dead, and wasn't sure how my sons were going to make it."

Biden's first wife, Neilia, and his daughter Naomi were Christmas shopping with sons Beau and Hunter on December 18, when a tractor trailer fatally broadsided their station wagon. The critically injured boys went on to make full recoveries.

The vice president drew knowing laughter as he described the daily trials of grief. "I knew people meant well, they'd come up to me and say 'Joe, I know how you feel.' I knew they meant well, I knew they were genuine, but you knew they didn't have any damn idea, right? Isn't that true?"

He spoke of a "black hole" survivors feel in their chest before acknowledging that for the first time in his life, he "understood how someone could consciously decide to commit suicide. Not because they were deranged, not because they were nuts, because they'd been to the top of the mountain and they just knew in their heart they'd never get there again, that there was never going to get, never going to be, that way ever again."
An anecdote can be a biographical incident.

@Justice4All If you copy paste information from the internet that is put out there by propaganda outlets, without looking anything up yourself... then you are a brainless tool.

@Kwek00 Yeah, Biden was citing a lawmaker from Louisiana. Although, distinguishing between propaganda and reliable news sources is challenging these days. Everyone make mistakes sometimes. I don't think @TheOneyouwerewarnedabout is the type that spreads misinformation. Many on here will continue to spread misinformation even after it's been debunked.

@Justice4All How is a meme a "news source"?
You don't think he spreads misinformation? Have you been sleeping on these stories?
