They said the South would rise again. Nobody believed them.

I'll make a long range prediction about Oracle, mostly because I know the origins of Oracle.

Back in the 1990s, Oracle started as a outwardly known Chinese database company. TOTALLY known by EVERYONE that it was a Chinese company. Some of the remark statements in the code and the documentation was written in Chinese!

Oracle is going the route of Bytedance and Tiktoc.

It'll take a while, but it will happen!

China has been collecting every bit of data they could, ever since the 1990s!

This is why I knew tiktoc was subverting social media.

We are at war with China, whether you like it or not! And subtlety and subversion is a well known Chinese trait!

Think Ninja! And the art of war. Sun Tzu's Military Methods.

What many people do not realize is that “ninja” is a Chinese word and itself serves as a testament to the Chinese roots of the ninjas.

It literally translates as “the one who endures,” a rather appropriate appellation for someone trained in this particular fighting style.

It is spelled in the Kanji script with two letters, which, in Chinese, are pronounced “nin sha.”

We were the last states to be inhabited and we do not have near as much infrastructure or available jobs. Money can't be generated where there are no jobs and a growing population.

Maybe if the northern states would Bible bump more there wouldn't be so much crime and shootings. We don't have to lock our car doors at night. A crack head in New York would bust someone's window in just to steal five dollars out of someone's console. Someone in Philly just this month shot up a bunch of kids at a bus stop. Never in the south

Also your food sucks. That's why you guys are so skinny and we're all fat and happy down here.

2 reasons: 1. Less unions. 2. The cost of living is lower, for now, meaning they can pay slightly lower wages than say in New York or California. As someone currently living in the South, I can confirm that is changing very fast.

They're just moving from Texas to Tennessee

@Justice4All Really. Oracle moved its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas, in 2020. I guess Texas didn't work out so well; better luck in Nashville!

But don't worry, most of their software engineers remain in California & Washington.

You're internally colonized as well, but you're okay with exploitation, so nobody would hope you change a thing. You deserve always this and only hard work with war as the output. It's your victims who deserve better.

A lot of major companies have moved their headquarters to somewhere in the South. It's a wise economic move and usually a win/win situation between employer and employee.

@jshm2 Yeah, VW tried that. And their Chattanooga, plant just voted overwhelmingly to go union! First domino to fall??

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Employees at a Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, overwhelmingly voted to join the United Auto Workers union Friday in a historic first test of the UAW’s renewed effort to organize nonunion factories.

The union wound up getting 2,628 votes, or 73% of the ballots cast, compared with only 985 who voted no in an election run by the National Labor Relations Board.

@Justice4All Personally, I think the idea of a non-college graduate being able to earn enough for a middle class life is a great thing for the nation. Unions were a big part of achieving that in the post WWII era. and the decline of unions helped lead to the decline of the middle class. Yes, unions (in the short term) lead to inflation & higher prices. They also lead to a strong middle class which is crucial to our long term prospects as a nation.
So you favor the Confederacy...

Yeah, but that’s not the context in which they meant it.
So-called "Critical Race Theory", reversing the Voters’ Rights Act and pretending that the Civil Rights Movement never happened—that’s more in keeping with their plans for "rising". 😳

@Justice4All Yes. That’s why so many of my family members left the South. I lived in Atlanta while I attended college. In those days, education was the key, and the generations right after slavery were teachers, and other educators.
Seems you still have a LONG way to go!

@Justice4All says
Even so, the data you shared doesn't address per capita GDP
Not directly, but the split in the electorate is nowhere near as wide as the split in the GDP.

Perhaps the map below is out of date. At any rate, you seem to be making the case that GDP per capita is not a particularly illuminating measure.
