I wonder how some people live with themselves

Knowing how evil they are. Do they take pride in it? Do they ignore it? Do they feel accomplished and successful? Do they treat it as their crossword of the day? Or do they have to make effort to put that part of their conscience to sleep? Do they think about it at night and feel the loathing for their existence that other people do?...... Or do they not think about it at all? Is it all just.... A reflex?

People who commit "evil" acts have different brains from people like you who couldn't imagine acting like that. They may have an
intellectual understanding that what they're doing is bad but they don't have the emotional understanding because they don't experience those emotions. Think of empathy as a smoke detector and evil as fire. People without empathy aren't fazed by the smoke detector going off because they can't hear it. They can sleep right through it where as people with empathy are immediately distributed by the sound of the smoke detector going off.

Maybe they dont think that they are evil. Maybe just acting on thier emotions without concideration for others. Or maybe some like the rush of "getting away with it". Some people also hurt other people because their holding on to thier own abuse and projecting it on others. Some just like to feel powerful. 🤷‍♂️ everyones different.

They lie to themselves and the world. They wear a mask, or a filter. Showing themselves to be wonderful,

It's a brave thing to face the truth, and most people don't have it in them

I don’t think they really realize they are evil. They are void of empathy and a conscience.

They think they're good people.
