Ffs, rent is going up by the max legally allowed again. Time to look elsewhere.

$1460 a month for this crappy place is beyond ridiculous. I was looking on FB market place just to see what’s out there…lots of studios that are pet friendly for $1000ish in the county…some with a washer/dryer included and/or a private yard. And even the smaller ones are bigger than this place and in better condition.

Just no housemates! There is no greater bliss than living alone 😅

It's broken in Britain too. The conservatives governments here, since the l980s, deregulated the private rented sector, sold off council housing and failed miserably with broken promises on building new social housing. We have a housing emergency here where demand for safe,affordable housing is in chaos. Meanwhile the private sector is dominated by landlords who are making a small fortune offering substandard accomodation. Government here knows they have screwed up and have sticking plaster legislation on hold to address some of the issues but they are buffering enactment because they worry about losing votes from private landlords in this year's election. .

Sorry to rant. I feel for you and millions of people here who have simply lost faith in building their future and are crippled with ridiculous housing costs offering little security. Your home is your sanctuary. Good luck and best wishes.

During covid, house and rent prices nearly doubled - and then the two major chain supermarkets put EVERYTHING up about 75% if not more.

It's obscene. Middle class are now legit living in poverty by economic standards .

@OogieBoogie Where I live was bought by a nationwide company a few years ago, and they’ve been raising the rent by the maximum allowed by law every year. I think they’re trying to drive out all the renters so they can develop it…we’re just 1.5 miles from the ocean, so townhouses would rent for a mint here.
