Is there a problem with freezing meat? Or freezing cooked food to eat at a later date?

I'm wondering if this is a poor person thing or something.

I generally buy in bulk to save money since I need to budget, and it saves me time not having to shop for food daily or weekly.

Is this not normal?

Completely normal. I'm not sure about cooked meat but freezing raw meat is a common sense. There are 3-4 piece chicken breast packages and I never need more than 2 pieces so what else to do with the rest? You either throw it away or freeze.
Fresh frozen meat is okay for a very long time as long as you don't refreeze it.
