Could this boxing matchup happen?

Suppose their was boxer who fought for the U.S Armed Forces-maybe the Army or Marine Corps -and they were exceptional,good enough to compete against a world champion.Could a exhibition match be arranged between this hypothetical fighter and whoever was the actual World champion?(Of course,the title wouldn't be on the line since it would be only an exhibition.)
