Update on the "date"

Daughter enjoyed the afternoon with her friend and got back home bang on time 🙂 She chose the lunch venue, he chose the film . . they went Dutch, just as any modern couple should 👍

The film was a re-run of Dune (presumably to whet the appetite for Dune 2 later in the year), which was not entirely to her taste . .

Daughter: Wtf was that all about then?
Me: (after mentally deducting £1 from her allowance for gratuitous swearing indoors) 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

As she chose Yo Sushi! for lunch, I rather fancy that a similar conversation passed between her friend and his mother 😅

It is rather obscure without reading the book first... Glad they had a good time though

Aww glad it went well.🙂 How old is she?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Coralmist 13 🙂

Sounds like that turned out really well 😂 Next time, she chooses the film.

@SunshineGirl But which version of "True Grit"? 🤔
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@ArtieKat She first encountered it through the re-make, but we've got DVDs of both now and she likes them equally . . so do I, tbh 🙂

@SunshineGirl I've always liked Jeff Bridges as an actor but I love John Wayne in the original!
Nice to hear they had a good time. 13 is a great age too. My first date was at the age of 12. Hope she enjoys her teen years

If she's choosing the dining venue, they better go dutch. If I'm paying for it all, I choose it all.

It helps to have read the series of books. I'm a fan of them, so am slightly biased.
