The complicated life of a Conservative MP
Mark Menzies, honourable member for Fylde, has left the Conservative Party this afternoon and will not seek re-election following allegations in The Times of misuse of local party funds.
In early December the 78 year old treasurer of the constituency association received a call at 3 in the morning from her MP requesting a cheque for £5,000. He apparently needed the money to pay some "bad people" who had locked him in a flat 🤦♀️ He is also suspected of using £14,000 from party funds to pay medical bills.
How on earth do these clowns find the time to get locked in flats and why do their thoughts turn first to voluntary funds as a way of getting themselves out again? 🤷♀️
