Sermon Notes
Well at our Church we had an old school English preacher (Northern style)- if you don't get it, it's hard to explain 馃槄 Great sermon!
I will never get bored of saying this- it's a great church with a large auditorium with three rammed services- probably not what the media want to hear!
. Christ (God the son) had to come- there was too big of a divide between God and man to come
. Preacher pointed to people, didn't know them but guaranteed them like him he was a sinner- and that's great news as sinners is who Christ came for!
. Jesus as that treasure in the field- the man sold everything he had to get it- so it is with us and Christ, we need to surrender all to him!
. Some interesting insight from the passion translation of the Lord's prayer "You are the king who rules with power forever and ever" "May the glory of your name be the centre on which our lives turn."
. God doesn't need us- but he still wants us in heaven!
. Jesus should be more precious than career, health, wealth, family!
. The preacher once felt God nudge him to make a list of all the people he needed to forgive, all going well until the last three "not these people" well after ages of struggling, he forgave them and he said it was liverating!
