what is the answer to loneliness

the situation; i've lived alone nigh on 19 years now, i have nobody but my elderly parents who live far from me...i live in a council flat, i lost touch with any friends and people i knew from the past and i feel incredibly lonely at times....my only goal is to find a woman for companionship but she won't knock on my door... i have to go outside and get involved in activities..

but my true nature is one of a recluse, i don't like going out and i don't get along with many people....but still i feel lonely, especially at nightfall.

I understand this and sympathise (I tend to prefer good company rather than just any). Things changed when I registered with meetup.com; people post activities they are organising and you can choose to join in (usually for free or for very little, and usually in person now but some activities can be online) if you feel like it. It's big here in the UK and probably bigger in the states/Canada. If you give it a try I think you'll realise that no one needs to remain lonely any more. You can even organise your own activities but that's probably for a few steps further down the line.

@darkmere1983 Good man 👍
I joined a small mixed group this afternoon at a lovely garden centre nearby that does cream teas. First meetup event in over 2 months. I wouldn't say I met anyone I could be best buddies with but it was lovely to chat in the sunshine for a couple of hours, and to come away knowing I might meet up again with some familiar friendly faces at a similar event not too far away - if I feel like it.
Best of luck
