@ShadowSister Hmm ... I'm not sure that in my case it is body insecurity issues. In general I like my body. And in appropriate settings (clothing optional beaches, etc) I have no problem stripping down.
I think for me it is a hypersensitivity to objectification. When I was growing up here in my very touristy beachfront community, I was constantly gawked at. And I mean when I was 12 and 14 I was gawked at by old men. That experience over several years has, first, made me hyperaware of people looking at me "that way" and has instilled in me a revulsion to that.
And I know that Alex loves me and loves my body ... but even with her I don't like being stared at. And, yes, she knows this. 🤷♀️

I'm sorry you had to put up with that. I do understand the experience of being gawked at, but I don't know if I can ever fully understand the experience of being gawked at as a 12- or 14-year-old girl.

And, thanks, yeah it's pretty icky. But just go to some big state beach near you where you have tons of crowds. I'm sure you know the kind of place I mean. Then look for the guys with the mirrored or dark glasses just hanging out. You won't be able to see exactly where they are looking (that's the point of the glasses) but if you watch carefully you will see the general direction.
Happens once? Just a fluke. Happens twice? A coincidence. Happens three times? Likely perv.
A few summers ago I saw this guy at Craigville Beach on the Cape. He was well past three times looking in the direction of a family with two young teen girls. I was sure. I walked over to him and just stood in front of him in his line of sight. I was one stair step below his level and maybe 4 or 5 feet away.
Of course, he could still see what he wanted to see just looking over my head (you know I'm not tall). But I stood there staring directly in his face. Finally he realized I was there and staring at him and his head tipped down a bit (clearly now looking at me) and he asked, "Can I help you?"
I just said, "I see you," and continued staring him down. I didn't say another word but he turned and went to his car and left. These guys really piss me off.
Lmao. One can see what it's all about. Being aware you're seeing someone I'll restraint from asking any of these questions. Btw, I might already know the answer for one or more of these questions. Have fun tho.
@Rutterman Well, I'm back with Alex. I'm sure you and i have spoken about her many times back in the beginning of our journeys here and on EP. She's been wanting to move in together for quite some time. Earlier this evening i said yes! We need to work out the logistics. I own my place and she's in a lease until September so it won't likely happen right away, but its happening. 🙂

@DrWatson Well, the really funny thing here is that when I asked her if she wanted to come sailing with me the coming Saturday ... I didn't really consider it a "date" at all (I had never asked anyone out before). It was one of my EP friends at the time who called it a date and I was like it isn't a date! Or is it? 🤔 So on Wednesday, I caught up with her in the library (this was end of senior year in high school) and asked her if Saturday was a date. Her response was perfect: "I sure hope so!" (or something to that effect). I floated through the rest of the week. 😁

I've often talked about what my turn-ons are, but in truth it's always just been my description of my then-current partner. I've never thought really deeply about this until very recently (because, I'm likely taking the very big step -- for me -- of cohabitation with my girlfriend)...
So what turns me on??? Well ... 1) Be passionate about *something* -- It doesn't need to be the same things I'm passionate about, but at the end of the day we need to be interrupting each other all through dinner because shit happened and it mattered and you want to share it with me. That's tops on my list. You need to be living a life of purpose with intent.
2) A sense of humor is critical, although I fully admit that mine's taken a bit of a dent lately ... But please help me spark it back up when this happens. If we can't laugh at least a few times a week (I used to say every day), then something is wrong.
3) Care about yourself. Take good care of yourself. I don't care if it is taekwondo like me or yoga like my current gf or something else entirely, but put effort into the one and only body you'll ever be given.
When I see someone with these three attributes, then yes, they'd be on my list (if I weren't already taken).
Turn offs?? Well, think the opposite.
If you go through life thinking it doesn't matter and you can't make a difference anyway, then I'll be polite, but we will have little commonality to develop a friendship never mind anything more.
If you're so serious that you cannot laugh at yourself once in a while, then just keep on moving. We'll have nothing.
And, the big one, if you enjoy a few more minutes on the couch rather than a good run ... we just aren't made for each other. Sorry.

@ChampagneOnIce Well ... admittedly I'm going through a bit of a rough patch these last couple months in the self-love department ... several of my SWeeps know this ... but in general I like that:
1) I do try very hard to lead a life of purpose and intent (many of you hear me talk about this ... it is important to me),
2) I like that I continue to try to give back to the communities where I live and spend time, and
3) I like that I take the time each morning to be thankful for what I have.

@Degbeme My hair is naturally pretty straight. I don't do bangs anymore (used to when i was younger). So the big variable is length. Currently it is just past my shoulders so the pony tail is kinda short when i put it up. The color is back to natural now which is a light brown / dirty blonde. I've colored it both light and very dark in the past and even once did a blue thing in undergrad. 😁
@Degbeme Ahh ... yes ... right. Well, yes, most days it is up in a pony tail still. While i was on active duty i couldn't keep it that way. It needed to be up in a Navy bun...

Okay, so this might disappoint many of the guys out there in SWorld, but I have quite small breasts and I actually love them just the way they are. I love the wardrobe freedom they give me, I love the workout and active lifestyle they facilitate, and (of course) I love the pleasure they provide me.
@JesseInTX I'm definitely in the anti-hair camp, but I suppose generationally that is not much of a surprise. And, I was blessed with very little body hair so I don't need to shave anywhere near as often as many of my friends. But to the point of the question, shaved. 😁
@DHggmu Nope. Not a single tattoo or piercing. Not even my ear lobes. I did once do a belly button piercing, but it was just a short time and it has closed up.
