Wonderful! Here's another use of the lyric:

I see my light come shining,
From the West down to the East
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released

Written by Burt Bacharach and Bob Hilliard.

Chuck Jackson recorded it first.....Elvis Presley......Ronnie Milsap.
@JSul3 Perhaps. But also he was not known for singing pop standards so there was a certain expectation. And so he gave it his own unique spin. Same with his cover of "If I Ruled The World", which I think is also on that album.

@bijouxbroussard Yes....1969 album, It's A Mother on King record label.

Interesting that those 2 songs are on this album. They seem out of place based on tbe other cuts, all written or co-written by JB.
@JSul3 I own that album, my father gave it to me. I remember "the popcorn" being a popular dance at the time. 😄
