Baby Reindeer

I’ve been watching an episode by myself at the end of the night

It’s a tad triggering, but well done. Based on a true story and the guy it happened to plays the main character.

Have you seen it?
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Yep watched it. Found it difficult watch and disturbing. Also found myself angry at him at times. There's a lot of controversy in the UK over it. As now the real woman at the centre denies she was ever convicted and claims only sending a handful of messages. Hmm.... Whatever it's a compelling watch true or not

@OldBrit There's such thing as delusional disorder, she likely has it.

I've been watching it, it's so good!

No, but I want. A friend here recommended it and then I realized I saw the trailer and was thinking of trying it before.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@MellyMel22 highly recommend, but be aware there are triggering parts (if you’ve been through certain things)

@WaryWitchWandering Thank you for the warning.. I might try it tonight.

It's on my list of things to watch and plan on watching it soon.
No, but I heard she's suing him

Based on a true story
Not according to Martha.

I listened to a BBC report on the subject, it was pretty damning.
@ninalanyon OK, big difference.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
@ninalanyon @ElwoodBlues yep I wonder if someone somewhere is regretting not putting "Inspired by real events" instead. Would have probably been better.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@OldBrit From what the BBC program that I heard was saying even that might have been stretching things. The real life Martha is basically claiming that the bulk of it was simply made up.

Some things seem very odd, the program apparently claimed that the Martha character had been found guilty of stalking (and served time for it I think) which the real person vehemently denies. But surely such things are a matter of public record? So how come no one tried to find a record of the trial? Saying that someone has been convicted of a crime when it isn't true sounds like defamation to me.

I haven't, if it's good I might give it a go.
Hope you're okay though, I know how stuff like that can be stressful to people with childhood trauma.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@basilfawlty89 it is very heavy… but it’s good

I just need to take it episode by episode… the story is twisted and good
Ep.4 was hard. I desensitised after that
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@V00doo yes that was tough to watch
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I watched it and yah there were some triggering parts for me but it was well done.

And wow, it was crazy.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@iamonfire696 she was just off, right?!? It felt very awkward when she would scramble to explain stuff away or come up with excuses
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@WaryWitchWandering yes and it makes sense since she couldn’t cover her lies
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@WaryWitchWandering The human behavior panel on YouTube did a video on her interview.
