Which is a better field ?

There is a huge shortage of nurses in our area. The work is hard and emotionally draining, but it is also fulfilling as you help others in their worst times. I think you almost have to be "called" to be a nurse.
Cosmetology requires less education and is much less demanding. I don't know about the demand for new people in that field.

Nursing is extremely rewarding and the pay is great, plus job security is high. It requires intense schooling and if you want to climb the nursing ladder, so to speak, you'll eventually need a Master's, but starting out as an LPN, can be done in a couple of years.
I don't know enough about cosmetology to compare the two.

I worked in the long-term care industry for many years, and had many nurses from LPNs to Nurse Practicioner with Doctorates who worked with and for me. LPNs fill many positions from the smallest to largest cities and are vital in the long-term care picture, plus it's an inexpensive, relatively speaking, way to get into nursing.

Cosmetology is hard on the feet, legs, and back. Unless you are really good, have your own shop, and have built up a large clientele list...its not going to be a financial boom. If you are going to be a nurse...Get your BSN and after 5 years go back to school for your masters (nurse practitioner) and end up being the head of nursing for the hospital and considerably higher pay.

Nursing is more of a management type job. And requires ,most places,a masters within a couple of years. Which is mostly management classes.
Open to being sued . So buy malpractice insurance.
