The convoluted hook of of his cable to his livingroom television got messed up. Since he'd already had the cable company out once to 'fix' it, he wouldn't call them again. Nahhh. Leave it to one of us kids to fiddle with it and make magic happen.
45 minutes of trial and error and several swear words later, I fixed it. Not until after the game we had wanted to watch finished, but hey- next time.
I'm more concerned, impressed, astounded... that my old man was stubborn enough to just get a reclining lawn chair for his room since that TV never stopped working. Siiiiigh. SMH
