US interest rates are not high...

Everyone is constantly complaining about high interest rates. But these are historically pretty normal rates. People in the US got spoiled by the super low rates that were introduced to try to counter the recession in 2008. These are normal rates.

The narrative is spinning out of control because everyone wants cheap or free credit, which leads to its own disaster if kept up long enough.

You're absolutely right about that. It was way higher in the 80's. Got close to 20 percent.

@Ynotisay i got my first home loan in 1883. First time buyer rate was a deal at 10%

@Carla That's about when they started coming down. In line with inflation coming down. A few years before it was 19 percent. .
