In the spirit of Monday coming up…

What do you do for work? Best and worst thing about it?
I’m a preschool teacher
Best thing about it
Having new little bffs who look up to you and genuinely think you’re the coolest thing ever. 🤭
Pushing them to their limit and learning all they’re capable of some things not even their parents realize they’re capable of.
Creating fun activities for each day
Getting to experience their growth throughout the year and see how far they’ve come and improved.

Worst
Not having the funds or supplies to give them the best experiences
Always short staffed
Not the best schedule currently or benefits
Difficult to come across workers who are passionate and caring towards the students.
Always thinking of your students even when not at work and always talking about them 🤦‍♀️

What about you?

@Stark oh I agree with you! Being a teacher isn’t for everyone. I’d love to set up my own supplementary school to teach kids life skills, give them a fighting chance in the real world. Not necessarily academic things but how to make the most of being an adult.

Thanks! Honestly, I love Mondays. I love getting to the office and waiting for my team to get in so I can ask them all what they’re weekends were like. I really try to go above and beyond my team. The only bad thing about it is being a business owner you have to mentally know that you’re responsible for every household that your team members come from. It’s quite scary knowing I have 10 families to feed and not just my own!
@mynameisray I think that’s cool. I hate they don’t teach life skills in school. Thankfully my parents are pretty supportive and helpful in that area, but I know it’s a lot to struggle with.

🥺 wow, that’s fucking sweet to have that mentality. I don’t think I’ve ever come across someone to view business in that way. Most people are only concerned about their household and well being. ❤️ You seem really passionate about your career i can tell by how loving and caring you are towards your employees. They’re lucky to have an employer like you (:

@DarkSideoftheMoon love how ‘sit all day’ was on both pros and cons. Admire the work ethic for two jobs and getting things done. Keep going!

I'm a self-employed dog-walker/pet-sitter.

Best thing - working with animals.

Worst thing - when there's a death 💔
mynameisray · 26-30, M
@Fluffybull I’ve never met someone do this as a job! *ticks box on bucket list*

I have different sources of income but these are my main ones

YouTube/content creator & business owner.

YouTube/content creator Pros: I work whenever I want. I don't have a boss. Being creative is a lot of fun. Decent pay. Work wherever I want
Cons: sometimes google forgets to pay you. It can two month before I get a pay check. Hate comments are annoying AF. big companies abuse the Copyright strikes system. Taxes are a pain. I have to motivate myself. Work late nights

Business owner pros: basically the same as being a content creator but minus the creativity.

Cons: the unexpected fees to have products imported from china. Something certainly will go wrong. Lawsuits because some customer is stupid and hurt themselves using your product. Profit Taxes are not fun. Customer gives bad review, Even though it's their fault. The BBB can be a pain. Fees to keep the online store up. Work never really stop.

@empanadas I hear you dude! The creative world of business is incredibly difficult but keep going, you’ll get there! Also, avoid China, try Turkey…has been great for me!
