How's work treating you?
Apparently work had misplaced my sick certificate last fortnight and wants to have a phone call meeting on Wednesday to discuss my absence.
Last Night:
8 staff were rostered on. 3 didn't even show up. I was a 11pm start. it was 11:15pm by the time everybody knew which section they were to be in cause the roster wasn't clear. 6 bells had been going in my section since 20 minutes before I was due to start work.
The bells kept coming and by the time people were settled for the night one of the staff was to crook to work and went home. It was then 3am and time to start the pad round...
Few to no Wet Wipes, incontinence pads not the right sizes but all that we got. Sunday night too so very few linen with multiple bed changes. So we used the top sheet for the bottom and covered them up with a blanket. By the time the pad round was over it was 6am. Time for morning meds and early risers. 7 am and the morning staff are on, all unhappy cause I didn't recharge the phones over night. I never had time to look at the phones, I didn't even get my meal break...
But at least we didn't have to deal with one of the patients. Who got physically aggressive towards his wife that morning so they called the cops to take him away. A Resident mind you that has been violent against staff for weeks. I am 113kg's 240 pounds and he throws me around like a childs toy. Takes 4 of us to change his incontinence aide. Its so bad people have being calling in sick when they know their working in that area with him. And he is only one of 4 patients who are physically violent.
All this for shit pay and now with the new Labour Government who has never cared about Aged Care. My boss wants to discuss my absences from work...
Sorry for the rant. I feel better now for it. 😅
