No questions for the seniors

I can't understand why they normally feel disgusted if you ask them questions, and expect you to find out the answers from other colleagues, other teams, other people. I tried to find out the answers asking around and still don't know what to do. Only then I would ask my senior. But she s always so pissed off that I don't solve the problems myself. I find it strange that seniors expect sub-ordinates to ask other people but not her at all. We are in the same team, but this is not team work.
