When we were dating, my wife had bad menstrual events, and her doctor (or her father who was also an OB'GYN) prescribed birth control pills that helped with her periods. I didn't know they were birth control pills, otherwise I might not have worried about her getting pregnant.

I’m 53 and still on birth control because I have adenomyosis. Without it, I’d bleed heavily all the time

An IUD is a form of birth control, and it works by terminating a fertilized egg.

Our generation was sent away pregnant and some came back without the kid, but there's some we never saw again. It's not that long ago.
