Pregnant women and getting vaccinated?

Has any pregnant woman been vaccinated? What were your side effects? Or do you know anyone who has? I have heard you can get a fever with more commonly the second dose.

I wouldn't take a chance with anything if I was pregnant. Back when my mother was pregnant with me there was a drug very popular supposed to be good for you to ensure you carried to full term. Lots of birth defects from that.

@curiosi yeah that's why I don't want to get it. But I have heard hospitals are requiring people to be vaccinated or show a negative covid test with 72 hours. I don't like that. Do you remember what drug that was? I heard about thalidomide for morning sickness, that was sad

@curiosi I lived at an apartment complex where a woman lived who’s mother took while she was pregnant and that and she was having problems she thought stemmed from it. Have to go get checked for a certain type of cancer to detect it with a special test. I didn’t understand all of the details. She told me that it messed with DNA and no telling how many generations affected.

I have one of my friend's wife who has taken Pfizer vaccine in UAE. In India, there are few pregnant woman that have taken covishield/ covaccine. It is always better to consult the doctor and then proceed to taken vaccine.

@Indianboy Most doctors recommend the vaccine. I can ask mine but I'm not comfortable.

I know several pregnant woman that have been vaccinated. One had a minor reaction to the second shot but was fine the second day. They say that the baby is immune to covid as well as the mom. A twofer.

My cousin is pregnant & had the vaccine in Canada. She’s been fine. My boss ( a doctor) was pregnant until July & chose to wait until after her daughter was born to get vaccinated. I’m pregnant too & have decided to wait.

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Two of my friends are pregnant as well and they don't want the vaccine. I wonder if there will be issues later.

There’s always risks either way. I think you just have to make a decision based on the information you can attain & are comfortable with most. It’s not an easy thing trying to make a choice about that potential life inside you. Every mother wants to keep their child safe & have peace. I hope your friends have healthy pregnancies, safe deliveries & happy babies@Sunflower2021
I am sure some have.
