Weight loss is an unfortunate target in modern society.

The focus should be on mental and cardiovascular health combined with a good diet of home cooked meals and little to no junk food.

If you are building muscle, that’s a good thing.

It is just that way
The whole eat less mentality is just garbage. If that actually worked it would have been working for the past century from when it was proposed.
Weight and metabolism is super complicated. It involves the gut microbiome, genetics, what you eat, how you eat, exercise and the types of exercise, stress and hormones, disease, medications, etc...
People that say just eat less and exercise have obviously never had to lose weight in their life.
