Here is a place you can find online support groups for overeating:
https://oa.org/find-a-meeting/?type=1
It might not be what you need, though. Overeaters Anonymous gets at the inner reasons for turning to food for comfort. It is not about diets, I don't think. But the members offer support for each other as they all try to develop healthier eating patterns. And I bet they know about diets, and perhaps know about online support of the type you are seeking.

All the exercise in the world and what it comes down to is what goes in the mouth, or not. A person can literally do nothing and lose weight, I've done it. Not sayin you should, just an example. Limit those calories immensely. Maybe find a restricted diet that is compatible with the blood pressure.
@SW-User yeah i read that Dash diet book and it is really the same as other diets. all of the decent ones say the exact same things...see a doctor, more water, walk everywhere, slow and steady wins the race, no salt, more veggies and fruits, don't beat yourself up. so now i am doing all that stuff.

@DIABLISS Good on you. 👍

Eat more vegetables and legumes.
There are alot of vegan recipes that make cooking and eating vegetables appealing.
Kettlebells are a good exercise if you can't get out and walk.
You will notice energy levels increasing and blood pressure and weight decreasing.

@Adrift those are very specific ideas and i thank you. i have been eating alot of different veggies that i normally don't eat. i made ratatouille alot this summer with my home grown veggies. not to mention other nice veggie dishes. i can't grow an onion to save my life though. i tolerate legumes but don't really care for them. i walk or bike to pick up mail very often. i go to the post office.

You can try atkins diet for one month, that will do it, or just cut out all sugar and dairy, and exercise daily. Take an hour walk daily. You cold also go to overeaters anonymous.

I think you need some group that will support you in your efforts to change. Nutrisystem is obviously not right for you, but I have to believe there are other options.

173 pounds eh? that's 78.something kilos. Unless your 3 feet tall, that's not fat.

yes it is called exercise. incorporate it and a lot of your health issues will go away. i am 65 and still in pretty good shape.
@akindheart Well, thanks for that...i think...i used to teach yoga and exercise and aerobics and tai chi and Qi gong and then i found myself lying in a parking lot with a neck injury and a serious head injury. it changed my entire chemistry.
So now i get lots of exercise and live on a farm and am trying to eat better. and before this happened, i was in rockin' shape.
