Absolutely love it.
It sends me into a meditative state.
Water is life.
Living in the country, I'm absolutely dependent on it.

@NewKidInTown Ha, ha, he, he! All that shooshing and whooshing in gutters and downpipes.
Yes, with riding that's exactly it - the feeling of deep connection and relationship with the horse. My favourite thing is rides in forest, across farmlands and in different kinds of landscapes. Just like walking a dog, the horse is constantly responding to the natural environment. One sees it in where he (or she) looks, cocks ears, sniffs the air, and the feeling of his muscles and movement - every twitch a message.
Wonderful that your daughter has access to a nearby stables. The on-the-ground relationship is every bit as good as in the saddle. Does she have a favourite kind of riding, a favourite breed of horse?

@hartfire I find it akin to perhaps when I rode a motorcycle, being in tune with the beast between your legs.
She just loves being around horses and now enjoys helping younger students with tacking and untacking, cleaning the horses and mucking out the stalls. It doesn’t seem like work to her at all.
She prefers Western style, and is only starting to learn to jump.
It’s gotten very quiet here now, light drizzle with the occasional thunder, but it’s moving away, further in the distance.
But my, that was enjoyable :)

but I like the rain drops sound coming from tree after a big rain
NewKidInTown · 51-55, M
@TanoosNice photo!
It’s amazing how well a tree can shelter you from the rain, but only for so long, and then it seems to give up all of the water it has been holding at once, drenching you as payment for using its protection.
I also love the sound of wind through big tall trees...
